CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The NCCAA 9th ranked Trailblazers evened up the season series with the Cedarville reserves on Monday evening, winning 3-0 in an exhibition match.
Cedarville won the previous meeting one week ago back on September 30th by a score of 3-1. OCU refused to be denied this time, earning the shutout win to earn the season split.
Speed proved to be the big factor in the second half as OCU extended a 1-0 lead with two breakouts up the left sideline. On the first breakaway, Katelyn Danner used her speed and fancy footwork to work past the goalie and score on a wide open net to push the Trailblazer lead to 2-0.
Moments later, Rachel Bingaman managed to streak up the left sideline and beat a defender to create a great look at the goal. Bingaman blasted a shot towards the left post which deflected off of the keepers hand and into the back of the net to give the Trailblazers a 3-0 lead.
OCU managed the clock the rest of they way to seal the shutout victory. OCU will now prepare for this weekend when they travel west to take on NCCAA 5th ranked Maranatha Baptist on Friday.
