WILMINGTON, OH - Ohio Christian (16-9) took a 2-1 lead after 3 sets at Wilmington College on Tuesday night but was unable to secure the victory, falling in 5 sets to their NCAA opponent.
For the Quakers (1-13) from Wilmington, it was their first win of the season. The match was tight throughout with scores of 20-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-20, and 15-10.
In the game-changing fourth set, Ohio Christian stormed back to knot the game at 5-5 after trailing early on. Wilmington would steal the momentum and rally to win the fourth set 25-20, forcing a deciding 5th set.
The fifth set was neck and neck, and the Trailblazers took a 10-9 lead. Wilmington went on to win the last six points as OCU came up short in the final set, losing 15-10.
The 8th ranked Blazers will now focus on their NCCAA top ten matchup with #4 Maranatha Baptist on Saturday.
