CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The Ohio Christian University Lady Trailblazers took on the Golden Bears from West Virginia Tech on Tuesday evening as the teams supporte breast cancer awareness on OCU's annual "Dig Pink" night. The game would be a key matchup for both teams as the conference schedule begins to come to a close over the next couple of weeks.
Unfortunately for the Lady Trailblazers, a slow start would put them in a hole early, as West Virginia Tech would come out firing to build a quick lead. OCU would recover to compete in every set, but in the end the Golden Bears would be too much to handle, taking the victory 3-0. The Lady Trailblazers would finish with 32 kills and seven serving aces, as well as piling up 57 digs. Individualy, Lexi Jacobs would lead the way finishing with 13 kills and six digs.
The Lady Trailblazers now stand at 8-16 overall and 1-7 in River States Conference play. Next up, they will travel to take on the Red Storm of Rio Grande, a team that they defeated a short time ago. OCU will continue their roadtrip before heading home to celebrate Senior Night next Tuesday evening at 7 PM in the Maxwell Center.
