GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Trailblazers of Ohio Christian headed north to Michigan over the weekend for a trio of matches, highlighted by a matchup against Maranatha Baptist on Saturday. OCU (18-10) opened up on Friday with a pair of matches against Grace Bible College and Moody Bible. Ohio Christian defeated Grace back on September 6th in three sets.
Friday was no different as the Trailblazers once again defeated the host Tigers in 3 sets. Match #1 found OCU winning by scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-19. In the night cap, Ohio Christian won in 3 sets over Moody Bible in their Friday finale, The score against Moody was 25-21, 25-17, and 25-15.
On Saturday, the 8th ranked Traiblazers took on the #3 ranked squad from Maranatha Baptist in a matchup of NCCAA Top Ten programs. The defending Mid-East Region champs struggled against Maranatha, falling in 3 sets by scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 25-15.
OCU will now set their sites on regional rival, Kentucky Christian University. The Knights come to town on Tuesday for a 7:00 PM match inthe Maxwell Leadership Center. KCU won the previous matchup back on September 24th in 3 sets.
