CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The OCU Trailblazers (19-10) evened up the season series with the longtime regional rival, Kentucky Christian University, on Tuesday night. The Knight defeated the Trailblazers in the first matchup in 3 sets but tonight proved to be a different outcome.
Ohio Christian vanquished the Knights in 5 sets to pull even in the Mid-East Region standings heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
Kentucky Christian struck first as the Knights rallied to win the first set 25-23. Ohio Christian answered back by taking the 2nd set and 3rd set to pull ahead 2-1.
The Knights withstood a late OCU rally in the 4th set to even the match. OCU trailed 23-18 before storming back to within one point, trailing 23-24. The comeback was denied as KCU regrouped to win 25-23 and force a winner-take-all fifth set.
Ohio Christian pulled away in the fifth set and jumped out to a 12-8 advantage. The Trailblazers refused to let up, finishing the Knights 15-8 to claim victory.
The Blazers are back on the court this Friday as they host Appalachian Bible College for a 7:00 PM match.
