KISSIMMEE, FL - The OCU men's soccer team jumped out to a 1-0 lead over Northland International on Wednesday, but couldn't hold on for the win. Alex Marstiller found the back of the net in the first half to give the Trailblazers the early lead at 1-0.
The Blazers had an opportunity to go ahead 2-0 on great look at the goal but the shot fell right into the hands of the Northland goalkeeper. Northland then responded by scoring a goal in the 35th minute to tie the game at 1-1 heading into halftime.
In the second half, Ohio Christian fell victim to a hand ball call in the box, giving Northland a penalty kick. Northland converted the PK, taking a 2-1 lead. The Blazers were unable to tie the score in the closing minutes and Northland came away with a 2-1 win. OCU will now play Clearwater Christian in the consolation bracket on Thursday at 12PM noon.
