KISSIMMEE, FL - The Lady Trailblazers took Maranatha to a 1-1 tie on Saturday, forcing a shootout and a dramatic finish. The Blazers claimed 5th place by edging out Maranatha 4-3 on penalty kicks in the shootout.
The 5th place finish wraps up a historic season for OCU women's soccer. The program experienced several memorable moments throughout the season as they finished with a 7-9-2 record. The Blazers went an impressive 5-0 in Mid-East Region play on their way to their first ever Regional Championship.
In their first NCCAA National Appearance, OCU went 0-2-1 but played well. On the first day, OCU lost a close match by a score of 2-1. The Lady Blazers then lost another close match to Bob Jones University 2-0 on Friday. On Saturday, OCU played to a 1-1 tie with Maranatha before claiming 5th place on penalty kicks.
The 2013 women's soccer team wraps up the most successful women's soccer season ever at Ohio Christian University. The seniors finish off their college playing careers with a Mid-East Region Championship and a 5th place finish in the NCCAA National Tournament.
