WESTERVILLE, OH - The OCU Trailblazers picked up a big win in north Columbus on Friday night, knocking off NCAA affiliate, Otterbein University, 90-71.  Ohio Christian found the hot hand from outside, in their best three point shooting performance so far this season.

Ohio Christian used a balance offensive attack to build a 12 point lead with 6 minutes remaining in the first half.  Otterbein put together a 10-2 run in the closing minutes to get back in the game with 2:08 left in the half.  OCU headed into the locker room at halftime with a 48-42 advantage.

The Trailblazers pushed their lead to as many as 20 points in the second half. OCU took an 82-62 lead on a trio of three point baskets by Nic Baker and Danny Schrock. The Blazers shot a blistering 8 of 15 from downtown in the second half alone, for 53.3%.

Ohio Christian found their shooting touch on Friday night, hitting a total of 14 out of 31 shots from three point range for 45.2% in the game.   

OCU was led by Danny Schrock who tossed in 16 points on 4 of 7 shooting from downtown.  Wesley Russell flirted with a triple double with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists.  Nic Baker added 12 points on 4 of 8 shooting from three point range. JJ Smith, Ernie McCoy, Evan Mills each added 9 points in the win.

OCU is back in action on Saturday at 6:00 PM as they take on Mount Vernon Nazerene University in day two of the Otterbein Tournament.
