LOUISVILLE, KY - Ohio Christian tipped off the Mid-East Region schedule with a 95-74 win at Boyce College on Tuesday night.  The win was the 25th straight for OCU against NCCAA Division II teams.

The Trailblazers found their rhythm after a lengthy Christmas break by taking on a scrappy Boyce College squad.  OCU held a small lead throughout the first half before pulling ahead for good before halftime.  Ohio Christian built a comfortable 10 point first half lead by the close of the first half and would never look back.

OCU pushed the lead  to 25 points in the second half as they would continue to be in control the rest of the way.  The Trailblazers, now 1-0 in regional play, coasted to a 95-74 victory.

The Blazers had 5 different players reach double figures in the win.  Wesley Russell led the way with 24 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds.  Ernie McCoy gave a big boost with 14 points and 3 steals.  Christian Mathias stepped up big on the inside with season highs of 11 points and 9 rebounds.  Evin Bartlett also added 11 points while Evan Mills flirted with a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.  Danny Schrock finished with 8 points while Kris Carius went 3 for 3 from the field for 6 points.

Ohio Christian enjoyed a 44-26 advantage on the glass and a 13-4 margin on offensive rebounds.  Both teams shot the ball well as OCU went 37 of 77 from the field for 48.1% while Boyce was 28 for 58 from the field for 48.3%.

OCU is back in action this weekend as they host NCCAA #6 Kuyper College on Friday night at 8:00 PM.
