CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The Lady Trailblazers knocked off longtime rival Kentucky Christian University on Tuesday night in overtime by a score of 93-90. OCU overcame a 21 point deficit on their way to the comeback victory.

The Trailblazers dug themselves into a hole in the first half as KCU jumped out to a 20 point lead with less than five minutes remaining.  OCU trimmed the lead to 16 at halftime as KCU headed into the intermission leading 51-35.

In the second half, OCU would fight back with one of the most memorable comebacks ever.  The invigorated OCU defense clamped down on KCU as the Blazers began to chip away at the lead.  Shekinah Alexander and Asia Woodson led the offensive assault as OCU got to within 6 points with 5 minutes remaining.

Olivia Davis came up with 5 straight rebounds in the final two minutes and hit a pair of free throws as OCU tied the score up.  Ohio Christian followed that up with a free throw by Shekinah Alexander which gave OCU a two point lead with 15 seconds remaining in regulation.  On the ensuing possession, KCU guard Tanya Bowens drove to the middle of the floor and pulled up for a 15 foot jumper to tie the score and force overtime.

In overtime, OCU clinged to a one point lead with the score at 86-85 with less than two minutes remaining.  A clutch three point basket from Brittany Rucker ignited the home crowd and gave OCU an 89-85 lead.

KCU once answered back to get within one point, but Shekinah Alexander closed the door on KCU, driving the lane for a layup and hitting a pair of free throws in the final minute to give OCU a 93-90 overtime win.

Shekinah Alexander led OCU with a team-high 26 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the field.  Asia Woodson tossed in 20 points before fouling out.  Brittany Rucker was 3 of 7 from downtown for 11 points.  Olivia Davis had a game high 16 rebounds while also adding 6 points.

The win evens up the season series with KCU at 1-1 and puts the Blazers at 10-9 on the season overall.  OCU remains perfect in regional play as they look to secure the #1 seed in the regional tournament.

OCU is back in action this Friday as they host Johnson University at 6:00 PM.
