CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Sarah Bechtel knocked down six shots from downtown, including one with less than 30 seconds left, as OCU won 69-66 against a scrappy squad from Johnson University.  With the win, the Blazers are now 2-0 in regional play.

The Trailblazers dominated Johnson University in the first half, building a 19 point lead in the opening frame.  At halftime, Ohio Christian was in control and went into the intermission with a 45-26 lead.

Johnson University refused to go away silently as they fought back in the second half to make it a close game.  A late basket by the Royals with less than a minute remaining trimmed the OCU lead to just two points at 66-64.  After a timeout, OCU took the floor and found Sarah Bechtel open in the corner.  Bechtel knocked down the clutch three point basket to give the Blazers a 69-64 lead.  

Johnson University raced down the floor on the ensuing possession and scored with 7 seconds remaining to make it a one possession game at 69-66.  The Blazers inbounded the ball and avoided the defense as the buzzer sounded with OCU pulling out a 69-66 win.

Sarah Bechtel led OCU with 18 points on 6 of 9 shooting from three point range.  Asia Woodson tallied 16 points in the win.  Shekinah Alexander added 11 points while Olivia Davis went for 9 points and 15 rebounds.  Te-Asia Smith had a game-high 7 assists.

OCU takes the court again on Tuesday night as the Blazers travel to OU-Chillicothe for a 6:00 PM game.
