GRAYSON, KY - Ohio Christian University picked up a big road win at Kentucky Christian University on Tuesday night, holding on for a 97-91 victory after leading by as many as 24 points in the second half.  The win is significant as it gives the Trailblazers the #1 seed in the Mid-East Region Tournament later this month.

The first half was all OCU as the sharpshooting Trailblazers went 9 of 15 from three point range to build a comfortable lead.  Ohio Christian was able to go into the locker room with a 16 point advantage and leading 52-36.

The Trailblazers continued to be in control early on in the second half.  A layup by Evin Bartlett at the 17:56 mark gave OCU a 62-38 lead, their largest lead of the game.

The Knights answered with a run of their own and heated up from the outside, knocking down 7 of 17 shots from downtown in the second half to claw their way back into the game.  OCU stayed in front but Kentucky Christian was able to trim the lead to 10 points at the 4:00 mark.

In the final minute, KCU was forced to put the Blazers at the line.  OCU would go on to shoot 16 of 22 from the charity stripe in the second half and came up big down the stretch at the line to lead by six points.  The Trailblazer defense got the final two stops to put the game away as OCU left Grayson with a 97-91 victory.

OCU was led by Wesley Russell who had 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.  Danny Schrock went 6 of 9 from three point range on his way to 21 points.  Evan Mills was 5 of 8 from the field for 15 points.  Nic Baker was 4 of 5 from downtown on his way to 12 points.  Evin Bartlett added 11 points in the win.  Ernie McCoy and Christian Mathias each added 6 points for OCU.

The Blazers will now prepare to take on Boyce College next Tuesday in the Maxwell Leadership Center.  The game is scheduled to start at 8:00 PM.
