JOPLIN, MO - Lancaster Bible hauled down 21 offensive rebounds on Saturday and was able to edge Ohio Christian 67-62 in the fifth-place game at the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II women's basketball tournament at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo.

The second-seeded Trailblazers trailed No. 5 Lancaster Bible 31-30 at halftime and were outscored 36-32 in the second half.

Asia Woodson shot 8 of 13 to post a game-high 22 points for the Trailblazers. Olivia Davis contributed 15 points and nine rebounds, and Shekinah Alexander added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Lancaster Bible, which outrebounded OCU 47-36, was led by Aubrey Folger with 20 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.

The Trailblazers finish the season at 18-14 and finish in 6th place in the NCCAA.

 
 

JOPLIN, MO - After suffering a quarterfinal defeat to open the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II women's national tournament, Ohio Christian rebounded on Friday with a big first half to defeat Manhattan Christian 63-51 at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo.

The Trailblazers scored 27 points off turnovers, compared to just 11 for Manhattan Christian, which committed 21 miscues.

Ohio Christian held Manhattan Christian to 7 of 24 (29.2) shooting in the first half, and made 13 of 30 (43.3 percent) shots to take a 32-20 lead into intermission.

Asia Woodson drained 7 of her 12 shots to lead the second-seeded Trailblazers with 17 points for the consolation game. Olivia Davis accounted for 13 points and eight rebounds, Shekinah Alexander had nine points and Maritza Will added eight.

Libby White paced No. 3 Manhattan Christian with 15 points and 11 rebounds.


 

JOPLIN, MO - Asia Woodson was named NCCAA 1st Team-All American at the NCCAA Awards Banquet at Ozark Christian College.  Shekinah Alexander took home 2nd Team All-American Honors.
