CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The home opener for the Lady Trailblazers was a sweeping success as Ohio Christian grabbed a pair of wins over Ohio University Chillicothe on Saturday afternoon.

In the opener, the Trailblazers found themselves down in the early going.  OU-C took an early 3-0 lead after four innings of play and seemed to be in control.  The Trailblazers then rallied and scored 5 runs in the fifth inning as OU-Chillicothe had trouble finding the strike zone.  OCU would capitalize at the plate by walking in runs to build a 5-3 lead.  The Trailblazer defense and pitching held firm the rest of the way, securing the 5-3 win.

In the finale, Rachel Briggs got the OCU offense off to an quick start.  In the bottom of the first, the OCU senior belted a two-run homer to give the Trailblazers a 2-0 lead.  Ohio Christian would add a run in both the 2nd and 5th innings to build a 4-0 lead.  Taylor Moore was sensational on the mound, striking out eight OU-Chillicothe batters on her way to the win.  Chillicothe tallied their lone run in the top of the 7th inning as the Trailblazers went on for the sweep with a 4-1 victory.

OCU (3-2) will now prepare to travel to Marion, Indiana for a doubleheader at Indiana Wesleyan University on Monday.  The opening pitch of the first game is set to be delivered at 3:00 PM.
