CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The upcoming OCU women's soccer schedule for 2014 has been officially released. Coach Josh Murton will be leading the defending Mid-East Region Champions through a challenging schedule in preparation for another NCCAA National Tournament run. The Trailblazers will get started on Wednesday, August 20th, as they travel to Bluffton University for a preseason scrimmage.
Ohio Christian will kickoff with their season opener on Thurday, August 28th, as they host Midway College in a 4:00 PM match. The Blazers follow that up with another home tilt against Asbury University on Saturday, August 30th.
The Mid-East Region schedule will begin on September 5th as OCU travels to Knoxville, Tennessee to take on Johnson University. The regional schedule is highlighted by a pair of matchups with longtime rival, Kentucky Christian University. The Trailblazers will travel to KCU on September 16th and will host the Knights on October 4th as part of the OCU Homecoming festivities.
The non-conference schedule is highlighted by matchups with Bob Jones University, Berea College, Georgetown College, Maranatha Baptist, Shawnee State, Bluefield College, Tennessee Temple, Grace Bible College, Midway College, and Asbury.
Ohio Christian will serve as host of the 2014 Mid-East Region Tournament on November 1st and 2nd. The winner of the Mid-East Regional will advance to the NCCAA National Tournament which will be held in Kissimmee, Florida from November 7th-10th.
The Trailblazers are looking to build off of the momentum of an historic 2013 season where they claimed their first-ever Mid-East Region Championship. OCU advanced to the NCCAA National Tournament where they finished in 5th place nationally.
