CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Head Coach Kelsey Chapman is pleased to announce Kayla Zimmerman as the newest addition to Trailblazers softball.  Zimmerman comes to OCU after memorable senior season at Delaware Christian School where she played for Coach Matt Heidorn.  Under the leadership of Coach Heidorn, Zimmerman led DCS to a 15-11 record in 2014 en route to the the MOCAL Championship.

Delaware Christian went on to win the 2014 District IV Championship as Zimmerman showed up big at the plate, leading the team with a .520 batting average as a senior.  It was the first-ever District Title for Delaware Christian.

For her strong showing this season she took home 1st Team All-Conference honors.  She was also named a 3rd Team All-City selection for greater Columbus.  The team honored her as the Most Valuable Player following the 2014 season.  

Zimmerman is the first recruit signing for Coach Chapman who took the head coach position in early July.  Zimmerman joins Alex Ashley and Alexis Carius in the 2014 recruiting class.
