EAST BANK, WV - Mike Miller (SR/Columbus, OH) put together a masterpiece of pitching for the Trailblazers on Saturday afternoon, leading OCU to a 3-0 victory over West Virginia Tech as the teams split a pair of games. Miller showcased his talents in the opener as the senior tossed 7 innings of shutout baseball. Miller struck out a pair of WV-Tech batters and walked only one as the senior scattered five hits on his way to a complete game shutout victory.
Isaiah Haley (FR/Cincinnati, OH) stepped up with a big bat for the Trailblazers as the freshman connected on a pair of base hits to knock in all three OCU runs. Haley did most of his damage in the 3rd inning as he belted a two-run single to score a pair of runs and give the Trailblazers a 3-0 lead. Jordan Dicks (SO/Jefferson, PA) and Brian Daria (JR/Villa Hills, KY) would each score on the Haley single and each also added a pair of hits to the OCU offensive effort.
The OCU defense was stellar as they tallied 21 putouts and 14 assists without a single error. The Golden Bears took the finale by a score of 12-4 as the two teams split the doubleheader.
The Trailblazers are back in action on Thursday as they travel to OSU Lima for a doubleheader set to begin at 2:00 PM.
