CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The OCU Trailblazers dropped both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday, falling to Berea College by scores of 19-0 and 7-2.  Berea ran away with the opener by using 18 hits and taking advantage of 6 OCU fielding errors to come away victorious.  With Berea leading 9-0 heading into the 6th inning, the Blazers surrendered 6 runs in the top of the 6th and 4 runs in the top of the 7th.

The Trailblazers played much better in the night cap in what proved to be a 7-2 Berea win.  Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the 4th, the Blazers offense found new life as Caleb Penney (SO/Columbus, OH) and Tanner Holt (SO/Liberty Township, OH) hit back to back two-out singles.  Ethan Skowronski (FR/Cincinnati, OH) then capitalized with an RBI single to center field to score Penney.  The Blazers would pop out to end the inning as they trailed 2-1 heading into the top of the 5th.

Berea would add a run in the top of the 5th to lead 3-1.  Berea would then explode for 3 hits and 4 runs in the top of the 7th to extend their lead to 7-1.  OCU refused to go quietly as Jordan Dicks (SO/Jefferson, PA) doubled and Brian Daria (JR/Villa Hills, KY) singled to add a run in the bottome of the 7th inning.  Berea retired the final OCU batter with a called third strike to close the door on any chance of an OCU comeback, as OCU fell 7-2.

Caleb Penney stood out for the OCU offense, going 3 for 6 on the day.  The Trailblazers (7-18) are now scheduled to travel to Berea, Kentucky on Monday for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 PM.
