WILMINGTON, OH - The OCU baseball team is playing their best baseball of the year at the right time.  With postseason play on the line, the Trailblazers picked up back to back wins over the Wilmington Quakers on Wednesday and Thursday to extend their current winning streak to six games.  Ohio Christian won in convincing fashion on Wednesday night, coming away with a 9-3 win at home.  The Blazers then hit the road and held on for a big 9-6 victory at Wilmington on Thursday.

Jordan Dicks (SO/Jefferson, PA) went 3 for 4 with 4 RBI's on Wednesday night to fuel the OCU offense.  Ethan Skowronski (FR/Cincinnati, OH) and Isaiah Haley (FR/Cincinnati, OH) both went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI's.  The Blazers used four runs in the 2nd inning and five runs in the 8th inning to take a 9-1 lead.  Wilmington would add two inconsequential runs in the top of the 9th as Ohio Christian won 9-3.

Mike Miller (SR/Columbus, OH) pitched 8 and 1/3 innings, allowing only 3 runs and stiking out 4 batters.  The Trailblazers close out the Quakers for the 9-3 victory at home.

Wilmington jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on the Blazers.  After an OCU run in the 2nd inning and a scoreless 3rd inning, the Blazers trailed 2-1.  The Trailblazers then put together four hits in the top of the 4th inning to plate a pair of runs and take a 3-2 lead.  Stephen Wood (FR/Liberty Township, OH) started the rally with a single and Eric McClure (FR/Lancaster, OH) followed with a double.  Caleb Penney (SO/Columbus, OH) and Trevor Whitesed (SR/Tarlton, OH) then stepped up big at the plate, knocking in an RBI each to give OCU the lead.

The 8th inning was all OCU as the Blazers exploded for six runs on five hits to take a 9-2 lead.  Ohio Christian batted through the entire lineup in the inning as Ethan Skowronski started the inning off with a double.  An Eric McClure double then scored Skowronski.  Caleb Penney then singled to score Stephen Wood who had reached base on a walk.  Trevor Whitesed then blasted a double to left field to plate McClure and Penney.  A triple by Tanner Holt (SO/Liberty Township, OH) then brought home Whitesed.  Tanner Holt scored on a ground ball to cap off the scoring for OCU.

Caleb Penney led the OCU offense, going 3 for 4 on the day with 2 RBI's.  Skowronski, Wood, and McClure each tallied a pair of hits in the win.  Trevor Whitesed had a game-high 3 RBI's.

Richie French (SR/Waverly, OH) pitched 8.0 innings, striking out 6 and allowing only 2 earned runs.  Danarius Williams (JR/Cincinnati, OH) picked up the save, allowing zero hits and closing the door on a late Wilmington rally in the bottom of the 9th by retiring three straight batters.

OCU (13-18) will wrap up the regular season on Saturday as they take on Clark State in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 PM.  One win on Saturday will clinch an NCCAA Regional Tournament berth for the Trailblazers.

The Regional Tournament is set to take place at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee beginning on May 12th.  The Blazers would be seeded and compete in a bracket with Johnson University (TN), Hiwassee College, Morthland College, Bluefield College, and Lee University among others.
