FLORENCE, Ky. – Kyle Benecke (FR/Lewis Center, OH) won first place at the Asbury (Ky.) Invitational last Saturday and was named the KIAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for October 19-25. Benecke is a freshman from Lewis Center, Ohio. His time of 27:54 bested a field of 44 runners in the five-mile race. Benecke has set several OCU school records in this his freshman season.

 

"Kyle ran a tremendous race on a very challenging course at Asbury University," stated Coach Diltz, "I have been impressed with his practice habits and steady improvement this season. A well deserved honor for Kyle." 

 

With Benecke leading the way, OCU finished fourth at Asbury in the team standings. Up next for the Trailblazers is the KIAC Championship Meet Nov. 7 at the University of Rio Grande.
