CIRVLEVILLE, OH - Ohio Christian University and Coach Michael Blevins is pleased to announce the addition of Branden Focarett, from Pickerington North High School. Focarett is the first 2016 athlete to sign to play for Ohio Christian University.

"Branden will help us in several areas as an incoming freshman," Coach Blevins said. "He will instantly bolster our pitching staff. We are recruiting very hard to improve our pitching staff. Branden will help us at the hot corner as well. Not to mention he is very capable as a catcher and will only deepen our catching corp."

Focarett joins former teammate and Pickerington North alum, Zach Mason at Ohio Christian University.

"Pickerington North has been good to us in the last few years," Blevins stated. "They have a fantastic baseball program up
there.  Coach Thomas really prepares his players for the college level not only physically but more importantly mentally."

"The Ohio Christian baseball program is excited to welcome Branden and his family on board. It's a big focus for me to recruit
local guys with great families to setup a strong fan base and high energy around our program," Coach Blevins remarked. "Branden and his family fit that perfectly. He will be an instant impact player on the bump, but more importantly his high character will be his greatest impact as a member of our team."

In their inaugural NAIA season, the Blazers look to improve on their growth as a program in 2015. Trailblazers were 15-20 overall, earning their first NCCAA Division I regional tournament appearance in school history.
