FORT WAYNE, IN - The men's basketball team traveled to Fort Wayne, IN to face off with (9-4) Indiana Tech. The Trailblazers would suffer their third loss of the season after Indiana Tech defeats OCU 91-73.
A 10-0 run by the Trailblazers would cut the Warriors lead to eight at 32-24 with 5:18 to go in the half, but Tech would counter with a 10-0 spurt of its own to push the lead right back to 18 as they ended the half up 49-32. The hosts would push their lead to 21, their largest of the game, just over a minute into the second half, but the visitors would try to chip away at the lead, in large part thanks to Evin Bartlett (SR/Huber Heights, OH)'s game-high 30 points. Ohio Christian would get as close as seven with 6:30 left, but a 11-2 run by Tech, including a pair of dunks by Walls, would push the lead back to 16 as the Warriors won their sixth straight game.
"With Marquis being down with an injury, we had to limit our mistakes and play harder," said Coach Stockman, "We started the game slow and allowed them to build thier lead. Our guys played hard in the second half bringing thier lead to 8 several times. We plan to get some rest and come out tomorrow with a high level of energy."
The Trailblazers will have a quick turnaround as they host KIAC conference action against the University of Rio Grande tomorrow, December 30th at home. Ohio Christian will be looking to make their mark on the KIAC in their first conference action play in the NAIA.
