CIRCLEVILLE, OH – The Lancers of Grace College came to town this past weekend to take on Ohio Christian University Trailblazers in the NCCAA Division I Midwest Regional Championship game. The Trailblazers came out of the gate ready to play and following a 3-point bomb by Marquis Jackson (JR/Cleveland, OH) with just over 12 minutes left to play in the 1st half. OCU would take a double digit lead. Grace College would make up some ground before the end of the half and the Trailblazers headed for the locker room with 42-35 lead. The Lancers would seize control of the game coming into the 2nd half, and finally take the lead following a 3-point goal with just under 13 minutes left to play. Both teams would battle down until the final buzzer sounded, but thanks to some final minute 3 point fire from Nic Baker (JR/Hilliard, OH) and free throws from John Johnson (FR/South Point, OH) and Gary Hoover (JR/Columbus, OH), the Trailblazers would clinch the victory and become Regional Champions with a final score of 81-75. 


Marquis Jackson lead the Trailblazers throughout the game putting up 30 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assist. 18 of his points coming from beyond the arc. Evin Bartlett (SR/Huber Heights, OH), who is 4 for 4 in Regional Championships, would also prove to be a contributor for OCU as he put up a solid 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists. OCU collectively shot 27-59 (48.8%) from the field, going 10-25 (40%) from the 3-point line and 17-26 (65.4%) from the charity stripe.
