CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The Trailblazers hosted Crown College on Friday night and it proved to be the most memorable finish so far this season. The Trailblazers found themselves trailing early on as Crown broke out for an early goal to take a 1-0 advantage.
The Trailblazers responded with a goal just 10 minutes later as Prince Anokwah sprinted up the left sideline and used fancy footwork to break away before blasting a shot past the Crown keeper, tying the score at 1-1.
Alex Marstiller then added to the lead as he found the back of the net in the second half to give Ohio Christian a 2-1 lead. The lead was short lived as the squad from Crown refused to go away quietly. Crown worked the ball and rallied for a score, tying the game at 2-2 later in the second half.
With both teams knotted up at 2-2, the game headed to overtime. In the first overtime, neither team could get anything going and both teams remained tied. It appeared to be going the same way in the second overtime until the Trailblazers struck paydirt with under 10 seconds left. Michael Duffy put in the game-winning golden goal with just 7.3 seconds on the clock to pull out the victory. Ohio Christian came away victorious by a score of 3-2 to remain undefeated in regional play.
OCU is back in action on Saturday as they host Johnson University at 2:00pm.
