BEREA, KY - The Lady Trailblazers competed in a pair of matches on Friday night as part of the Berea College Tournament. Ohio Christian took on a pair of NAIA opponents in Alice Lloyd College and the University of Pikeville and came away with a split in day one of the tournament.
In their first match of the day, the Trailblazers took on Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member, Allice Lloyd College. The Trailblazers entered the match with a 1-0 record against KIAC schools after a victory over Midway College back on August 31st.
Ohio Christian would go on to enjoy a 3-0 sweep over Alice Lloyd College, winning all 3 sets. It was a one sided match the entire way as OCU won 25-10, 25-15, and 25-7. The win puts the Blazers at 2-0 on the season against KIAC schools.
In the night cap, the Trailblazers lost to a very talented University of Pikeville squad. The NAIA D1 program played well but OCU stayed close, losing the first set 30-28 and the second set 25-22. Pikeville ran away with the 3rd set by a score of 25-15.
OCU is back in action on Saturday as they take on KIAC programs in Berea College and Brescia University.
