CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Congratulations to OCU Women's Cross Country member Ariel Young for receiving the NCCAA D1 Women's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week honors. This honor comes after one of Young's best performances last Friday at the All-Ohio Cross Country Championships.

Ariel  placed 41st place in the All-Ohio Women's race last Friday. Nearly all of Ohio's 50 colleges were represented, from all divisions. Teams such as Ohio State, Miami University, and University of Dayton competed as well as some of the top teams in the nation in other divisions. Young is only a sophomore and on a wet course in rainy conditions came through her 5k at a season best 19:05 in route to the 23:02 6k finish.  There were over 350 runners in the varsity race. The performance also placed 12th in the NAIA/NCAA DII results. Ariel is a very focused and determined student-athlete and has quickly become a leader of the young Ohio Christian University program. She ran a smart and very tough race to finish that high amongst the state's best collegiate runners.  The Trailblazers family is very proud of her and looks forward to what she can do at the end of the season.
