MISHAWAKA, IN - After a 2-0 start with two close victories on their home court, the Trailblazers hit the road this weekend to compete against two quality opponents in Indiana. The team would first face #16 Bethel College on Friday evening. Although OCU was able to keep the score close for most of the evening, the Pilots were able to hold the lead for the entire game, winning by the final score of 74-61. Marquis Jackson led all scorers for the Trailblazers with 26, while also picking up five steals and three assists. Senior Nic Baker would also have a good performance, going 4-9 from 3-PT range while also collecting three rebounds and an assist.

On Saturday evening, OCU aimed to put Friday behind them and split for the weekend before heading back home. The Trailblazers would face the host school of the tournament, Goshen College, who stood at 1-1 entering the contest. OCU was able to find their rhythm early and stick to it, carrying a nine point lead into halftime. In the second half, Goshen would attempt to make their move, but the Trailblazers held steady to win the game 88-80. Marquis Jackson would once again lead all scorers going 11-17 from the field, while John Johnson would go on to have one of his best games so far this season, finishing with eight points, six assists, and three steals. The win puts OCU at 2-1 for the season as they return home for a matchup against Concordia University on Monday evening.
