CELINA, OH - The Trailblazers' Basketball team hit the road on Tuesday to try to find their rhythm again after a rough weekend against two quality opponents. The boys were set to face the Lakers from Wright State-Lake last night in a matchup OCU was hoping could turn the tide and get the team back on track. Just as they had hoped, the Trailblazers came out strong, building an nine point lead in the first half that would be enough to defeat the Lakers 79-68. OCU was led by RSC Player of the Week Marquis Jackson, who scored 51 points last Saturday on his way to being honored. Jackson scored 21 points last night, going 6-10 from the field while also getting four steals and seven assists. Carmeal Thomas also had one of his best games of the year, scoring sixteen points and getting four rebounds.
"We came out and played great defense to start the game," said Head Coach Tony Stockman. "They junked the game up with a couple of different defenses, which took a little time to adjust to, but we did a good job executing down the stretch to get the win. We have had a lot of travel and a lot of hard games to start the season, so it will be good to rest up and enjoy time with family and friends over the holiday."
