RIO GRANDE, OH - The OCU Trailblazers' Men's Basketball team has already experienced a season of ups and downs. After receiving votes in the preseason NAIA Top 25 polls, the Trailblazers began the season 4-1 with a promising future. Since then, the team had gone 1-7, searching for a way to get back to their winning ways. On Saturday afternoon, OCU was hoping they could begin their march into the heart of the conference season with a win over in-state rival Rio Grande. The first half would be owned by the Trailblazers, as the team would take a twelve point lead into the break. The Red Storm adjusted however, cutting the lead down to one point with just under twelve minutes remaining. The game would remain neck and neck to the end, but Rio Grande would get the final push, winning the game 70-66. Marquis Jackson led the team in scoring with 18 points and in assists with seven, while Senior Claude Bogan had one of his best games of the year, scoring 15 points and getting three rebounds.

"We have to figure out how to win, but I was very happy with our defense and execution on offense," said Head Coach Tony Stockman. "The last two games we have not made shots and it is always hard to win when you can't score. We will continue to work hard and hopefully figure out how to close games out." The Trailblazers will be back in action on Monday night, as they will take on Indiana Tech at home at 7:00 PM.
