TOLEDO, OH - The Ohio Christian University Trailblazers' basketball team took to the road on Friday evening, facing a tall task against the University of Toledo, an NCAA Division I University. The game would be played as an exhibition matchup for the Trailblazers, as the team looked for a final tune-up before a busy January conference schedule. The Trailblazers would come out strong, as they built a small lead in the first few minutes of the game. The Rockets would heat up, however, as they quickly gained a 24 point lead heading to halftime. The second half would remain the same story, as Toledo would go on to win 98-58. Marquis Jackson would lead the Trailblazers with 14 points, while Rijnard Hartman gathered eight rebounds in the loss.
"It was a great experience to get a chance to play Toledo," said Head Coach Tony Stockman. "They treated us very well. Our guys came out and played very good for the first 10-15 minutes. We played they fairly even, but then we went cold. Their size and strength wore us down and made it hard for us to get to our spots and run our offense. It is something we can learn from and build on as we get ready for conference play."
