CIRCLEVILLE, OH - During the month of January, the Lady Trailblazers have put together a stretch of basketball that has been fun to watch. Since January 3rd, OCU has won five straight games, winning in multiple different ways. Strong play has been evident from a different player every night, and on Tuesday evening Freshman Michaela Puckett stood out as the key to victory over conference rival Cincinnati Christian University. Puckett would put up 20 points in the 68-60 victory, going 7-16 from the field. The Lady Trailblazers also received a strong contribution from Jasmine Junkins, who scored 11 points to go along with four rebounds. "It feels good right now. Not only are we winning, but we are coming together as a team and everyone is really starting to trust each other," said Junkins.

During this five game winning streak, the Lady Trailblazers have stretched their record to 14-6 while standing at 5-3 in conference play. "We have to look at each game individually. You don't want to look ahead two or three games down the road, we need to stay on this day," said Coach Jamey Batten. "Our players have clear, defined, individual roles, and a lot of that has come from adversity and injuries. After our last injury, that adversity caused our team, especially our seniors, to step up, and they have responded very well." Next up for OCU will be another home RSC battle with IU Kokomo on Saturday afternoon. Tip time will be 1 PM.
