CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The Ohio Christian University Trailblazers have already proved to be a different team in 2017. Since the winter break, the Trailblazers have gone 10-2 with very little trouble. This past weekend proved very similar, as OCU traveled to Pittsburgh to  face to RSC foes in Carlow and Point Park. The weekend would start against the Celtics, as the Trailblazers were led by up and rising shooting guard Austin Marciniak (SO/Green, OH). Marciniak would score 29 points while going 9-14 from 3-PT, including 8 3's in the first half. Marquis Jackson (SR/Cleveland, OH) would follow shortly behind, scoring 23 points to help the team secure a 93-71 win.

Saturday, the Trailblazers bounced back on short rest to face another RSC opponent in Point Park. Led by Gary Hoover (SR/Columbus, OH), OCU built on a four point halftime lead to run away with a 96-78 victory. Hoover would gather yet another double double, scoring 26 points to go along with 15 rebounds. The Trailblazers now find themselves in third place in the RSC East, shortly behind West Virginia Tech and IU East, two opponents that OCU will face in their three remaining games.

"I was very proud of our guys this weekend," said Head Coach Tony Stockman. "Our defense was excellent and the guys were focused and playing together. On Friday, Austin shot amazing with 8 3's in the first half, and our guys did a great job of getting him the ball. Saturday, Gary was a man amongst boys with 26 points and 15 rebounds."
