CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The Trailblazers picked up a huge conference victory on Tuesday evening in the Maxwell Center, defeating the Golden Bears from West Virginia Tech to revenge their early season loss on the road. The game would start out in favor of the Golden Bears, but it would not be long before OCU was able to find their rhythm, hitting shots from all over the floor. The Trailblazers would take a one point lead into the halftime break, setting up a tight battle in the second half. The game would remain close the rest of the way, but thanks to clutch free throws and a tremendous performance from Marquis Jackson (SR/Cleveland, OH), OCU was able to pull away, winning 69-64.
Jackson would lead the team in scoring with 20, while also getting seven assists. Jalen Hearn (JR/Columbus, OH) continued his recent hot streak, scoring 14 points while going 4-7 from 3-PT. Following the game, Head Coach Tony Stockman had this to say about his team's effort: "I thought they outworked us early, but the good news was they were shooting jump shots instead of getting layups, which is what we wanted. We are a shooting team, so we know we have to make 3's to win the game."
