CIRCLEVILLE, OH - After clinching a spot in the RSC Tournament on Tuesday evening, the Lady Trailblazers were ready to put their finishing touches on an already amazing season. Despite losing multiple athletes to season ending injury, OCU has managed to put together a 20-8 record, highlighted by going 11-5 in conference play. With two games left in the regular season, the girls were hoping to build some momentum to add to an already historic season. On Saturday against Rio Grande, the Red Storm would come out fast, building an 11 point lead headed to halftime. In the second half, multiple Lady Trailblazers would find their rhythm, as a 31 point 3rd quarter would help push OCU to victory, winning 74-67.

All five OCU starters would finish in double figures, led by Erinn Bailey (SR/Dayton, OH) and Breyonia Hearn (SR/Columbus, OH) who scored 17 and 15 respectively. The Lady Trailblazers also got another good contribution from Deshay Thomas (JR/Reynoldsburg, OH), who went 3-6 from 3-PT. OCU will now rest up for a week as they look ahead to Senior Day next Saturday when IU East is scheduled to come to town. "In the first half, we were playing hard but we weren't playing well," said Head Coach Jamey Batten. "We just had to calm down a little bit and play good basketball, because you don't always get points for good effort. We still have unfinished business. We have a big game against IU East next week, whom we have never beaten. We are playing for pride and respect, and these six seniors are playing very focused."
