KOKOMO, IN - As the Lady Trailblazers traveled to face IU Kokomo on Saturday in the River States Conference Semi-Final, they couldn't help but reflect on what has pushed them this far this season. In a year of ups and downs, the Lady Trailblazers have always found the answer, despite losing four key players throughout the season to injury. OCU was hoping the momentum that they had built up over the past month would push them on the Championship matchup with a chance to punch their ticket to the NAIA National Tournament. However, the Lady Cougars had a different plan, as IU Kokomo would come to play.

The first half would remain fairly tight, as the Lady Trailblazers would only trail by seven points headed into halftime. The third quarter would prove to be the difference maker, as IU Kokomo would outscore OCU by 15, expanding their lead to 22 leading to the 77-48 victory. Paige Lewis (SR/Mechanicsburg, OH) would lead the Trailblazers with 15 points, while Erinn Bailey (SR/Dayton, OH) gathered 10 rebounds to go with nine points. The Lady Trailblazers will now set their sights on the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament set to begin soon.

"We have kind of been overachieving for a while now, and I think today our energy was a little different than what we have had lately on top of some flu symptoms that we are dealing with," said Head Coach Jamey Batten. "We were kind of dragging today, and today was the wrong day to have that happen. You have to give it to Kokomo, they came out and played great in front of their crowd. We're going to get healed up and we still have some basketball left to make this a truly historic season."
