CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Head Coach Jamey Batten is pleased to announce the signing of Tri-Village standout and 2017 graduate Danika Mann. Danika, a 5'11 forward for the Tri-Village Lady Patriots, averaged 16.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG throughout her 2016-17 season. As a team, the Lady Patriots would finish the year with a 24-2 record while taking the Cross County Conference, Sectional, and District titles. At the year's end, Mann received both All-Conference as well as All-Southwest District honors.
"It's a big day for Danika," said Tri-Village Lady Patriots basketball coach Brad Gray. "It's nice to see her rewarded for all the hard work she's put in over the years and especially over the last year and a half she worked really hard to get herself ready to play college basketball."
Mann was named first team All-Cross County Conference her senior season at Tri-Village while helping lead the Lady Patriots basketball team to their third consecutive conference title.
"It's great to get a student-athlete like Danika who comes from a winning program like Tri-Village because she understands what it takes to be successful," said Ohio Christian University women's basketball coach Jamey Batten.
"I went on a visit to OCU and I just got the feeling that it was home," Mann said of her decision of attending Ohio Christian. "I'm really excited to be there for the next four years."
"We feel that even as a freshman she is going to be a big contributor for us," said Batten. "We have her in our plans to be in our main rotation as a player that can produce at the 4 or the 5 spot. We like how she is very active on the inside, has great hands, can pass and score on the interior, can shoot midrange, all while understanding team basketball," continued Batten. "She also has a natural toughness about her game that we really like and how she plays with physicality."
"Ohio Christian is getting a blue collar kid," Coach Gray said of Mann's strengths. "That's her strength. "She's going to work her tail off. You're not going to find very many people that are going to outwork her. They are getting a complete post player."
